Let us not lie! Ibadan is the only city in the SW today that looks like governance is still happening

Why did the heavy downpour expose Governor Adeleke’s negligence in the state’s project? The State government's lackadaisical approach to projects and negligence to factors like; quality control, materials standard, supervision, and parameter checks are alarming. Damages can be controlled or averted if the aforementioned factors are considered before embarking on projects. In Limnology(Study of aquatic ecosystem in inland water), a branch in Zoology, some physico-chemical parameters are carried out on DAMS, RESERVOIRS, etc. to determine the plankton composition mostly (phyto and Zooplanktons) presence in inland water, and its effect on the people consuming it Last night in Osogbo, heavy winds destroyed many properties—LIVES were lost! Government streetlights were broken into halves, erected billboard frames collapsed and casualties were recorded. The billboard frames caught my attention yesterday. Almost all the erected BIG billboards were destroyed. From Old-Garage, Olaiya, Aregbe, Oke-fia, Ogo-Oluwa, technical, etc., it was an eyesore. While the Government approves the erection of the billboards, the government must ensure good quality control, give a template of quality materials, and provide prompt supervision of the billboards by the owners of the billboards. These would reduce the unforeseen disaster and guarantee people’s safety. The level of substandard projects in the state is worrisome. The Governor should set a committee to check these projects, please! The road projects ain’t up standard! While natural disasters are unavoidable, there are ways to avert the destruction. I commiserate with the people of Osun state and commend the government's swift action to the disaster. May God Almighty continue to protect us.

Ijaiye is Oyo. We have three Ibadan. Ibadan of Lagelu, Ibadan of Maye and Ibadan of the republican era built by Oyo generals from the old Oyo. I am Ijaiye of Akinyele LG and I am Ibadan, I am Ijaiye and I am Oyo. If people are wondering why I am replying to talks like this, it is to stop wrong narrative and identity crisis. Ijaiye is Oyo not an independent Yoruba subgroup. The third Ibadan was an Oyo city state and power base.
