Well, I found out something rather creepy recently. Both Charles Collet and Sir Nigel Gresley died on the same say, April 5th. And do you know what that date is? My birthday. So, my two favorite British loco designers both died on my birthday... Wow.

@DaneTank656 Donald and Douglas really are versatile; passengers, goods, forwards, backwards, doesn't matter, they'll do it all... Though a raincoat is a must-have when running tender first if the weather turns British.

In this thread we talk like we've actually worked on NW engines and know the downsides to working on them. E.g: "Thomas has always been the worst one of the branchline trio to get around. You have to be 6 inches wide to get in there and oil the big ends"

@TheUnluckyTug One quick note (you probably know already), but during Scotty's time on the Southern Railway, the headlight was removed. It's possible that this was done to give the engine a more "authentic" feel, but I'm not entirely sure.

There is so little information on Flying Scotsman's USA tour online and it's frustrating finding pictures and dates of everything. I may have just found the topic for my next big video 🤔

@TheUnluckyTug Don't know if this info will be useful, but Scotsman wore three American whistles during the tour. 1st, a Norfolk & Western Hooter, 2nd a Powell 3 Chime during it's time on the Southern Railway, and 3rd, for the rest of tour, a Southern 3 Chime.
