Helen Whately’s on GB News claiming the government could save £2 billion by bringing back face-to-face PIP assessments… But let’s actually look at the facts. First – face-to-face assessments never went away. They’re still happening. Since the pandemic, it’s been a mix of in-person, phone, and video. So this idea that everything’s suddenly remote and out of control? Not true. Second – saying only around 5% are face-to-face doesn’t prove fraud. It points to backlogs, staffing shortages, and a system still under pressure. And let’s be honest… in-person assessments cost more. Buildings, staff, travel, that doesn’t scream “£2 billion saving.” Now the claim it’s “too easy to game the system”… If it was that easy, why are so many disabled people being refused, then winning at tribunal? That tells you the system isn’t too soft, it’s often getting decisions wrong. And this bit about people paying for help to fill in forms? That’s not fraud. That’s desperation. Because here’s what’s been cut… Free advice services. Legal aid for most benefits cases. Local support organisations. So people are forced to pay for help navigating a system that’s deliberately complex. And finally, “it’s not helping the people who really need it.” Disabled people are the people who need it. PIP exists because disability comes with extra costs, and those costs haven’t disappeared. So if we’re talking about “getting a grip” on the benefits bill… Let’s start with the reality, not blaming disabled people for a broken system. #PIP #DisabilityRights #DisabledPeopleAgainstFacism #TogetherAlliance

Government could save £2bn by bringing back face-to-face PIP assessments. Ministers say they're doing that, but the numbers tell a different story. So do the empty assessment centres. Time to get a grip of the benefits bill.

Nigel Farage took £585,000 from GB News. His MPs declared another £770,000. Four billionaires have spent £170 million building the media machine putting Reform in your living room every night. Today the Guardian exposed them and what they expect in return. This is a political project funded from the top. #ReformUK #NigelFarage #GBNews

Israel executed Hassan today in Aaitit, South Lebanon. Not a combatant. Not armed. Just a paramedic on the front lines saving lives. Israel dropped a bomb on his ambulance, killing him and wounding 4 others. Read that again.

@mehdirhasan @earthygirl011 This needs a little investigation, Mehdi. He posted a jolly video on TikTok 5 days ago completely different from the weird shit he posts here. Something is fishy.

John Cleese is a perfect example of Dunning Kruger. Spends all his day tweeting incessantly about the evils of Islam, misquoting the Quran, attacking Sadiq Khan, and making points about comparative religion that are demonstrably wrong. Buddhist extremists don't kill their religious enemies? Go to Burma. Hindu extremists don't kill their religious enemies? Go to India. Catholic extremists don't kill their religious enemies? Go to Northern Ireland. FFS.
John Cleese@JohnCleese

Does this silly little man not understand that Islam is a very aggressive belief system, threatening death to anyone who does not convert to Islam The Buddhists, the Taoists, the Scottish Presbyterians, the Hindus and the Sikhs and the Confucians and the Catholics don't go around shouting about beheading people they disagree with Is this too much for your tiny little brain to take in ? Oh. The doorbell rang. The police I assume...

And other VAs need to be wary of his fans because even to this day, they go lurking around VAs' pages and comments to see if they stand with him.
