Many #Altcoins have seen a big sell-off over the past few days. However, $SEI is resilient and holding up nicely here, as it's also grinding upwards against Bitcoin. Strong trend, and if Bitcoin finds a bottom in the near future on this correction, I would expect SEI to continue running upwards after this rounded bottom, and higher highs, higher lows have been created.

Late Friday @Sei_Labs rolled out the v6.5.0 mainnet upgrade for @SeiNetwork. p50 block times are already down to ~400ms. Huge improvement. Bigger story is the next chart though.

Sei Network celebrates third birthday! @SeiNetwork is now some three years old, the scalability-focused network having now processed more than 2.6 billion transactions since launch, per @chainspect_app. At time of writing, the $SEI token holds a market cap of more than $400 million, still well below highs of nearly $2.8 billion seen in late 2024.

There's a new brand for @SeiNetwork. At launch in 2022, Sei was intended as the "blockchain for trading." At the time, that meant crypto-native stuff: tokens, orderbooks, and exchange infrastructure. What I didn't fully see was how far "trading" would stretch. Oil futures now trade through the weekend. Pre-IPO markets exist for founders and early employees. Elections are priced in real time. Compute, attention, and risk have liquid markets. Credit is tokenizing. Everything is becoming liquid, global, and always on. More than ever, the world needs better infrastructure for trading. Infrastructure that only blockchains can deliver. Today, Sei is one of the fastest blockchains. One day soon, after the Giga Upgrade, Sei will be the most performant chain, fundamentally unlocking new use cases and better market structure.

The modern economy: a world where anything of value has a market, and where value moves instantly, globally, and freely. Sei is infrastructure for the modern economy.

The next phase of the SIP-3 process is here. As part of the CosmWasm deprecation, iSEI staked with Silo Finance needs to be unstaked by June 1 and claimed after the unstake period. Deprecating legacy elements of the chain is critical for the Sei Giga Upgrade.

Three years ago, trading was a category focused on exchanges, orderbooks, and crypto-native markets. Today, the idea of trading has expanded to the exchange of value at global scale. Sei has always been built for trading. The only thing that changed is what trading means.
