Been organizing as well as packing up my belongings for my eventual move (don’t worry it’s still several months away, so nothing concrete yet). Anyways, tonight after work I decided to pack all my original gaming boxes. This is literally decades worth of game collecting here.

What's this? YIIK isn't only available digitally anymore?

It's easy to make fun of YIIK, it had a disastrous launch & its plot while ambitious often struggled to deliver on what it set out to do in some rather embarrassing ways especially if taken out of context. But I plea to you, if you were ever interested in it, don't sleep on I.V!

@MiauMiaut I saw JAST tweeting about it earlier actually. You know the art work in these raising sims are almost always gorgeous, this one included, but I just never get far in these. I guess the more simulation heavy the VN gets the less I enjoy it. lol I need plot and hand holding. ;’D

@AckkStudios @LimitedRunGames No problem. Personally if both PS4 covers have the different names on the spines like the Nintendo Switch versions do in the promo image I know I would love to buy 2 copies. It would look great on my shelf. lol

We’re so happy this is finally happening! One detail we’re especially excited about is the reversible cover — you can display it as YIIK: A Postmodern RPG or Y2K II: Benevolent Psychosis, since this release includes both the original game and the sequel.

It's not a game for everyone but what it has to say about reality, our current always connected life style, psychosis, and art itself really struck a cord. Influences from Murakami's Wind Up Bird Chronicles to Jodorowsky's Holy Mountain, it very much is a post modern experiment.

You don't spend nearly a decade of your life working on something unless it is meaningful to you, and that sincerity comes thru w/ this ver of YIIK. I'd say it is one of the best examples of an indie redemption. The new battle system is insanely fun & the plot better realized!

For context, this game was announced 10 years ago - one of the first games I announced after Breach & Clear! While I'm no longer at LRG, I'm happy to see this finally release (though I'm sorry the Vita version never happened!).

Both the Japanese and English voice actors for Joyboy being people who voiced Luffy in the past is kind of insane. I wonder what Oda told Toei?
