British Era Record – 25 April 1933
An officially registered document from the British era (25/04/1933) clearly records Nurpur Shahan as an established settlement — a living community with history, ownership, and continuity long before Pakistan and even before Islamabad ever existed.
At that time, these people were living peacefully on their own land, with dignity, identity, and stability. Their homes, their lands, and their lives were recognised and recorded.
Within this same record, Noori Bagh is mentioned in a land transaction, directly exposing the false claim that it is a “recent settlement” and not part of the Model Village.
And today?
The same people — descendants of those recorded in history — are being labelled illegal, displaced, and erased from the very land they have lived on for generations.
These homes should have been preserved — they carried centuries of history, stories, and identity within their walls.
But instead, under so-called “Shanghai” and “Manhattan” style plans, the pride and identity of these indigenous people is being taken away — replaced by concrete, while history is buried beneath it.
