How to farm prep DEXes without burning your money too hard 🪂 I've lost 4 digits in farming prep DEXes. My cost per points was usually high and the returns didn’t even cover my time & losses. But later, I realized it’s not about how many points I get. It’s about how much each point actually costs. If you’re not controlling cost per point, you’re not farming.. you’re getting farmed. Here are top 5 strategies that helped me lower my cost per point - (1) Delta-Neutral The most effective way to farm two perp DEXes at the same time with zero directional risk. Long one, short the other on the same asset → collect funding. (Eg: Short BTC on Variational, Long BTC on Extended) Useful Tools - (Check Reply 👇) Always check slippage & spreads first. Avoid high vol US time zones. Enter with small partial sizes. Use Limit Order and let funding reduce your overall fees. (2) Gold Arb This works especially well on Variational because it has 3 gold assets (XAU, XAUT, PAXG) that all track gold. Watch the spread (price difference) between XAU/XAUT. If spread > 20 → short XAU / long XAUT (or the opposite, I do depending on funding rate). When spread tightens below 20 → You’re usually at breakeven or in profit. This strategy lets you control your trades and liquidation risk on one platform only. Check the detail strategy on @TomCryptoDefi (3) Hit 3 birds with 1 stone Sometimes you can farm 3-in-1 opportunity. When it happens, don’t miss it, observe and maximize. Examples - - Kinetiq + TreadFi + Hyperliquid - 01Exchange + N1 + Delta Neutral on another platform - Ondo + Variational + Weekly USDC Rewards (4) Be Early You don’t need to farm every new perp DEX. But when you believe in the team, fundamentals, and community, go hard in the early phase. Best R/R by far. Examples - Variational early days - 1M vol / 3 digit points. Now only 2 digits. Ondo USDC Rewards - Week 1 (200k vol) paid $200. Week 2 (600k vol) paid $150. (5) Know the Point System 90% of perp DEXes reward volume heavily, but not all. If you understand how each one scores points, you can lower your cost per point. Examples - Variational → Heavily rewards OI + long holding Extended → Volume + long holding 01 Exchange → Some weeks volume, some weeks low-OI pairs Farming perp DEX is a long game and comes with risk. Never put all your liquidity into one perp DEX. Right now, with so many new perp DEXes launching, new opportunities keep coming. Focus on minimizing risk and cost per point. Stay liquid.
