I read substantial amounts of this over Shabbos. Tremendous resource to prepare for the Pesach Seder. ⁦@ShabbosReads

For shits and giggles, I decided to see just how hard it would be to replace my birth certificate, Social Security card, AND my marriage license, since Democrats think women are too stupid to figure it out. Here's how it went: 1. Birth certificate: Contacted the health department of the county where I was born. They OVERNIGHTED a certified copy to me the next day - total cost, $14. 2. SS Card: Contacted Social Security on their site. They asked if I was sure I needed the card, since I 'won't likely be asked for it.' I went ahead and got it - took five business days to arrive - total cost, $0. 3. Marriage License: Went to the 'vital docs' site of the county where we were hitched. Filled everything out online, arrived in three days - total cost, $5. It cost less than $20 to obtain all three certified/legal documents, and it took less than five business days to receive them. Note: if I had lived where I was born or married, it would have been a day. Tops. Anyone telling you this is too hard or unfair is lying and hiding the real reason they want to stop Voter ID. I know you guys knew that already... lol

@AnnaBower I cannot understand how this happens. Why would you not, at minimum, take the half hour to run your citations through westlaw or lexis to make sure they are real and accurate.

An absolutely excruciating moment at the Georgia Supreme Court this week. Justice Peterson pressed state attorney Deborah Leslie over her citations to cases that apparently don’t exist.

This team was perfect. This is not about basketball. This is about greatness. Far from perfect in practice and far from perfect in games - but this team was perfect in all the ways that actually mattered. The fact that they were pretty damn good on the court too? Awesome, but secondary. Yes, in their minds too. This core group spent almost three of their four years with what many would consider a burden, but what they considered a privilege. This group played more than basketball. They represented a people and a nation under attack. And they did that perfectly. They also set the stage for this program as it moves into the future – on and off the court. They raised our level in ways that we wish nobody ever has to do again. I always love to talk about how much I learn each year from the teams I have the privilege to coach and work with. These last few years have changed many of our lives – for sure mine. To watch the resiliency, confidence and courage these student-athletes exemplified was awe-inspiring. Different backgrounds, different observance levels, different beliefs – one brotherhood. In all my years, I don’t know that I have had a group of guys this invested in each other and their people. The shift of our focus as a program from sport to humanity somehow made us better at basketball too. These guys defined playing for a purpose. The difference is the purpose was bigger than just the sport itself. You want to win? Everyone does. You work hard? Everyone works hard. What separates you on and off the court is your “why”. We found our program “why” thanks to this special group, and we will never forget it. Thanks @maxzakheim, Zevi, Roy, Dothan, Hillel, Tom, @arishklyar12, Or - for teaching me how to lead with confidence and perspective. Our future success will be yours as well.

There was something uniquely inspiring about Ryan’s Jewish pride, & Zevi’s rare combo of rebbe and record-breaker. 100%. But also cool seeing Israelis putting on tefillin for the first time, committing to Judaic studies, and choosing to be part of YU/MacsNation.
Doniel Weinreich@DonielWeinreich

@Rosenblades For sure. And after all, YU is somewhat diverse and includes people from Israel or secular backgrounds as well. But I think a big part of what made the Leifer/Turell/Halperts etc. years so exciting is the way it represented the community. And I think a lot of that is being lost.

@danielgibber Well deserved honor. I remember in the late 90s as a single living on the Upper West Side, eating Shabbos Dinner at your parents' apartment. Your father is a wonderful, warm and generous person who treated and hosted me with tremendous kindness. Mazal Tov.

@BQuillmanQcast D1 no longer has the story lines it had in the 80s, and early 90s. Currently, D3 is a far superior product.

People who wanna watch the D1 games should do so. People who love #d3hoops, will watch #d3hoops.
Larry@lfkreis

@BQuillmanQcast I have been watching a ton of D3 tournament games this year and it has been a blast. However, the Elite 8 games are scheduled in direct conflict with the first day of first round of NCAA Div. 1 tournament. Does this happen every year? Seems like a poor marketing decision.

@JackJTurell I agree with you. Also, the more recent players have had to play against much more difficult competition, even within the conference. The old IAC conference, where YU used to play, had nothing like today's versions of Farmingdale and Sarah Lawrence.

I am definitley favoring the more recent players as thats where the success has been. Winning is first. Duncan was drafted into a far better situation than Garnet, but is still widely considered the better player. Success matters.
MN21@firstcap1

Eli played with 6’3 big men, not 6’7 big men that took a lot of attention, and added a lot of help to winning. He also played for Halpert that ran a robotic offense, that scored 20 less points a game than what Steinmetz runs. On Halpert team maybe you got up 15-18 shots as the best player, never 30 like on a Steinmetz team. Ask Steimitz himself he played for Halpert with Hami the difference in the offense. Hami averaged the same amount of points as Samet 22-23, while maybe taking two 3’s a game tops. He also played 3 years not 4, and played 30% less games a season, so can’t compare total points. He averaged the same on far fewer shots. Luka shoots 10 3’s a game to average 32, is he a better scorer than Jordan? While we are at it, where is Yossi Gev? Your facts are not even correct on polonor being the all time leading scorer since the 60’s. Gev was the all time leading scorer for almost 20 years, from early 2000…..how can your list be trusted, Gev would easily start at a forward spot. Samet is a great player that absolutely belongs in the starting 5, I’m sorry you are way to heavily favoring the more recent players. There are no guards and forwards anymore, YU’s biggest player Osaka- 6’7, is listed as a guard and Dovorat as a forward/Guard- who may have led the team in assists. It’s a positionless game, Hami is in the starting 5.
