Quai Network is transforming the concept of blockchain with multithreaded execution. Similar to when computing advanced from single-threaded CPUs to multi-threaded CPUs, multi-threaded networks like Quai will support more processing capacity than single-threaded blockchains.

#1: Proof-of-Entropy-Minima (PoEM) PoEM, Quai's new consensus mechanism, has been implemented since the Bronze Age. PoEM allows for the coordination of infinite chains within the network. Prior to PoEM, Quai had a hard limit on the number of chains that could be coordinated. 2/

#2: External Transactions (ETXs) While Quai's Bronze Age Testnet supported cross-chain transactions, the rules and standards surrounding gas, atomicity, reference-ability, and more have been updated and implemented. 3/

#3 Live EVMs & Opcode Additions Quai Network's Bronze Age Testnet did not support smart contracts or dApps. EVMs have now been set up on each Quai Zone chain, and EVM opcodes have been added that facilitate cross-chain transactions and smart contract interactions. 4/

#4: Stateless Prime/Region Chains The original architecture of Quai held state in the Prime and Region chains. Now, Zone chains are now the only chains that carry state (have accounts and transactions), and thus are the only chains users directly interact with. 5/
