Today marks 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐲, an occasion to recognise and celebrate the leopard (Panthera pardus), one of the most adaptable yet increasingly threatened big cats in our ecosystems. As we observe this day, we join forces with governments, conservation organisations, research institutions, protected-area authorities, and communities across Africa and Asia to highlight the ecological significance of leopards and the urgent need for concerted conservation efforts. Zimbabwe has an estimated leopard population of between 1,000 and 1,500 individuals. This important national population underscores Zimbabwe’s responsibility, alongside other range states, to secure the species across both protected areas and wider landscapes. As ZimParks, we are dedicated to the sustainable conservation of leopards as part of our broader priorities for biodiversity and protected areas, while encouraging responsible coexistence in shared landscapes. #InternationalLeopardDay #WildlifeConservation #BiodiversityMatters

𝐙𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐰𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 🌍 At today’s Post-Cabinet Media Briefing, Prof. dr. Amon Murwira reaffirmed the country’s commitment to engagement and re-engagement with the world, anchored in peace, cooperation, and shared prosperity. With strong backing from the Southern African Development Community and the African Union, and the world at large, Zimbabwe is rallying global support ahead of the crucial United Nations Security Council elections 2026. “Friend to all, enemy to none” is a doctrine guiding Zimbabwe’s diplomatic push as it seeks a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, at the heart of global decision-making. The Matusadona Conservation Trust (MCT), a partnership between African Parks and Zimparks, to co-manage Matusadona National Park, is proud to announce the successful translocation of 20 African Wild Dogs (Lycaon Pictus) to Matusadona National Park, marking the return of this critically threatened species to Zimbabwe’s iconic wilderness. This translocation is a vital step in boosting the wild dog population. With only about 6,600 wild dogs left in Africa and fewer than 700 breeding pairs, every success story like this is a massive victory for conservation. The success of this journey was made possible through incredible teamwork and years of meticulous planning. From preparing the boma to the stress-free 2-hour flight and the final release into the Matusadona wilderness, every detail was managed to ensure these dogs have the best chance to thrive in their new home. #MatusadonaNationalPark #AfricanWildDog #ConservationSuccess #WildlifeRestoration #AfricanParks #ZimParks #Zimbabwe #InHarmonyWithNature

The Mission expresses its gratitude for the support of the international Christian community, particularly Pastor Dayan and Assistant Pastor Yanike. Assistant Pastor Yanike Hanson delivered a powerful message under the theme “Resurrection Power for Unity and Development,” a message that aligned beautifully with the spirit of our Independence commemorations. Her most profound reminder was: “From a Resurrection perspective, the 2030 Agenda is not only a government document, but a prophetic call to arise and build together.” We also appreciate beautiful singing by our student Anesu S Taderera #ZimAt46 #nyikainonamatirwanevenevayo #zimbabweincuba #vision2030 #leavingnoonebehind

🇿🇼🇿🇼 The Mission, under the leadership of Ambassador Patrick Ronald Mutasa, held a Thanksgiving service to mark 46 years of Independence at the International Christian Community and we were accompanied by Ambassadors and Diplomats from SADC. The Thanksgiving Service was in line with His Excellency the President Comrade Dr E.D Mnangagwa important mantra “Nyika inonamatirwa nevene vayo” — A nation is prayed for by its own people. This principle of unity and faith shaped our reflections and AmbassadorMutasa highlighted how the Lord has been an anchor from our liberation journey to the 46 years we celebrate today, quoting Psalms 127:1 “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain” ZimbabweAt46 #IndependenceDay #ThanksgivingService #NyikaInonamatirwaNeveneVayo #ZimbabweInCuba
