Today, I visited Mr Ronald Mujuru at his Harare residence to check on his recovery and emotional wellbeing, a month after the tragic accident that claimed the lives of his wife, Mrs Lillian Maranda-Mujuru, and their five children.
I spent time with him, his close relatives and friends, offering comfort and encouragement. I am pleased to note positive progress as he is gradually regaining his appetite, walking confidently, and managing to sit for his examinations.
As a mother, I will continue to monitor his condition until he makes a full recovery. Sympathy must not end after burial in these quiet moments of grief, as a nation we stand with him in love, unity and support.
