@Princymthombeni Africans must know that political independence is different from economic independence.
Political independence gives you a level playing field, how you play is up to you.

This Zimbabwean lady didn’t hold back. She told her fellow citizens scattered across the world that calling yourself “educated” while doing low-level work in other people’s countries isn’t exactly an achievement. And maybe it lands differently coming from one of their own, because if we say the same thing, suddenly it’s labeled xenophobia.

There are moments in life when everything changes overnight.
No warning. No time to prepare. Just a new reality staring you in the face.
I found myself in that place.
And in that moment, I had two choices:
Go back to what felt safe… or trust what I had in my hands.
A lot of people told me to return to banking. It made sense. It was stable. Predictable. Respectable. Some laughed at my situation 🥹
But deep down, I knew I had something else. A skill. A gift. A craft. It didn’t look like much at the time. It wasn’t polished. It wasn’t perfect. But it was mine.
So I humbled myself.
I started where I was, with what I had.
No big plan. No guarantees. Just consistency, faith, and the willingness to keep going even when it didn’t make sense to others or to myself.
And that decision?
It carried us through.
Not overnight success. Not instant results. But step by step, stitch by stitch… it became something.
Sometimes the biggest shift in your life doesn’t come from chasing what looks good on paper, but from honoring what’s already in your hands.
Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Trust your process.
Even when no one else understands it.
