@BoltsBreakdown bottom line the door being unlatched is standard operating procedure at 3-5 seconds left it's pulled open at 1 second - this is done at every arena in every NHL city including Tampa - bad timing and a fluke injury unlucky- other than the poor luck nothing was done any different

I wanted to sleep this one off to avoid an overreaction; I woke up just as pissed as I was last night. 1) This injury simply does not happen if that door is latched. The violence results from the door stonewalling his momentum. If that’s a normal board, he rolls right off that hit. 2) Holmberg was having a career year. Already, he’s played more games than in any season prior, and he’s set new career highs in both goals & points. On top of that, the Hounds line has been Jon Cooper’s go-to line, notably shutting down the Avalanche, the Penguins, the Oilers, etc. Injuries suck; injuries that result from human negligence suck even worse. This is horrifying—purely horrific.
