@Erootsusd The “DiRT” games get delisted for car licenses expiring, but people still own them. If this is your defense, then why should I trust them in an all-digital market they are aiming for if another company can walk in and take the product I purchased away whenever they feel like it?

@Zoltekka Again, that's a rights issue. StudioCanal wanted them removed from accounts. Sony has to comply with the rights holder. What other platforms do or don't do has no bearing on this specific situation.

If you're gonna buy these "Must play Indie" games, may as well do so on the PC, at least then PlayStation can't take them away from you.

@Erootsusd Per my previous reply, there is a precedent of products being delisted NOT being removed from the accounts that purchased it. If Sony can’t provide any security to the library I spend my money on, why should I invest in their service?

@Zoltekka Sony didn't remove the movies on a whim. The rights holder, StudioCanal, forced them to. Not sure why it's Sony's fault that the people who own the movie rights wanted them removed from the platform.

@Erootsusd Even then, there are services like GOG that are permanent licenses to what you buy. Even when a game is delisted from Steam, you can still install the product if you purchased it. Which Sony has already failed at when they removed movies from peoples accounts earlier this month.

@Zoltekka You realize a ton of services do it, right? It has to do with EU data privacy laws. Google will also delete your account if you don't log in for 3 years.

@Zoltekka Still a total nothingburger issue. Unless you're being deployed in the military or something, you can log in. If you don't, that's on you willingly giving up the account. 3 fucking YEARS is a long ass time.

A new report shows that buying PlayStation games on disc is usually much cheaper than buying them digitally from the PlayStation Store. The price comparison looked at several PlayStation games and found that physical copies are often the cheaper option. Pretty strange how Insomniac and Santa Monica have to confirm their games are on DISC lol if Playstation thinks discs are apart of the past then why are Playstation studios using that as a marketing advantage and asking for goodwill
