Fucking dogshit take… Guy I knew and served with, self deleted leaving behind his wife and kid. No one knew about it for 12 hours after it happened because he didn’t show up for roll call. No one saw it coming because he was one of the most liked people on post. This dude was also one of the people that actually helped me out of my depression and was there to help me when I had almost succumb to becoming an alcoholic because of that same depression while I was serving. His untimely end affected all of us, and there was not a damned thing any of us could have done to stop it. There was also another incident that happened just before I got onto that post, where one of the security forces guys got his weapon from the armoury, and went into the bathroom right before guardmount happened and pulled the trigger. Neither of these instances were people that showed any public signs of distress that would have caused anyone to have thought that they were going to do that.
