@jinxmeliora Tea is not hard for tanks at all. Phase 1 is a bit active but the other phases you're chilling, you don't need to worry about nisi as a support, and phases 3 and 4 are just some normal tank swaps

@MarshMeelou @verymuchpink This implies you get story fast enough. You get 2 hours of story every 4.5 months. There's actually less story then there is battle content per patch. It's just that old raids are skippable and old story is not without buying a skip.

@verymuchpink If it’s hundreds of hours you spend on raiding and enjoying yourself then I‘m happy for you. I just said do not spread hate for the game if you don’t get new content YOU are interested in fast enough. Because that’s not what ffxiv is all about.

Skip 250 hours of story as you like to play a few hours of raids. But once you finish the raid encounters and get bored, don’t complain about the game having nothing to offer. You skipped 250 hours and more of what else it has to offer.

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.

FFXIV is a Final Fantasy story first and an MMO second, If you skip the story you have to understand that yes, you're skipping 80% of the game.

@nucknyan @Littywicky50191 This does not include statistics of China. (Both games are available there). Statistics are from Newzoo which is the industry standard for gaming statistics. Also WoW is PC only while FF14 is on every single platform, so yes WoW is considerably more successful.

@nucknyan @Littywicky50191 First of all I play both games and enjoy both games. As someone who has experience with both i can very much tell you they both do their own thing well.
Regarding WoW being more successful, for last month, WoW is ranked 27th for monthly active users, XIV is 294th.
