With no guarantee of a job at the end of it, it's time to rank the T&O St3 preferences. I have my top-3 list sorted, but know nothing about the rest of the UK and am open to moving. Please hit me with recommendations via comments/DMs. @bota_uk @eoeortho @WomenSurgeonsUK

Doctors leave training because they feel unsupported & underappreciated, personal costs are unacceptable & career prospects are unattractive😭 Our new review, published this week, explores attrition from training. Lots to think about and improve 🤔 🔗shorturl.at/X6Mx1

The problems in the NHS are because of chronic underfunding & bad planning. Not because of immigrant doctors. Poor training recruitment strategies does not justify xenophobia.

This is what (?temporary) freedom looks like! ST3 interview done, nothing else left but waiting and hoping for the best. On my way out for a delicious meal in the neighbourhood.

@Xeon4f145d96s1 Not sure what's with your fascination with donkeys but good for you. Very happy to revisit the topic come August, hopefully there'll be some quality data collected to look into the problem.

Where are all the senior doctors airing their concerns about the impending mass scale unemployment crisis about to face newly qualified doctors in the UK? Is it just my algorithm? It looks like radio silence out there.

@isitsleepytime @Okizle @QueenEfexii Is it not? What other countries apart from Canada base their recruitment criteria purely based on PMQs? It's not the case in the US, NZ, Aus nor in any of the EEU countries as far as I'm aware.

There's deliberate xenophobic onslaught against IMG doctors in the UK. It was started by the policy from BMA RDC and it has caught fire. It is sad to see.

@isitsleepytime @Okizle @QueenEfexii What doesn't make logical sense to me is lobbying for a policy that can potentially backfire and negatively impact 40% of your members and then expecting said members and the wider IMG community to still remain a part of the institution and go out of their way to strike.

@isitsleepytime @Okizle @QueenEfexii Personally I lost a lot of respect for the BMA and don't plan on re-joining anytime soon so could definitely understand if others decide not to further support the organisation strikes or no strikes.

@isitsleepytime @Okizle @QueenEfexii This is just the way I talk. In regards to the policy, it's currently meaningless because it's not the BMA/RDC dictating the workforce and recruitment policies but lobbying for it creates an anti-IMG climate which is dangerous. It's also short-sighted.

73 more hours till the interview. I'm so ready to be done... 😴 I do occasionally get a twinge of jealousy of my colleagues back home who sit one exam and have instant job security with no interviews, no moving around and no exams until FRCS equivalent 🙈
