Whenever Twitter shows me my new followers (often med students) 90% have a name like RandomMedico with a profile pic of a tree or something. But then there’s always one person in a suit and tie, big smile, full name in the bio. Respect to these guys for daring to be different!

It’s sad that someone having fun and dancing (not hurting anyone in anyway) is shamed in our society. What’s “normalized” is beating your wife, slut shaming girls, ogling and harassing girls in the streets. Pakistanis really have their priorities straight.

I will never understand this South Asian tradition of women leaving their homes behind and for men, nothing really changes. They just get a new roommate who does everything for them. The idea of “rukhsati” makes me feel sick inside. I find the practice degrading. It’s like

I remember my sister’s last night at our house before rukhsati. Everyone made her sleep early Cus it was her wedding day. I couldn’t sleep all night with sadness and also excitement. Around 4am I went to the kitchen to get a snack and there she was, also making a snack.
