@that_grl_sarah So don't. Who said human beings were supposed to converse with everyone before money and "likes" became involved? Interested: begin conversation. Boredom: disengage. You don't go to the mall and announce to everyone walking by that your hours of interaction have been exceeded.

It's kind of impossible to keep several hundred conversations going. I converse with people but I can't converse with everyone. But I do let a lot of people message me during my open DM days. Like more than 90% get replies, it's just not sustainable long term. The other sites are not about being transactional... A small gesture of kindness only gets the foot in the door, it brings the number of DMs down to a more manageable number. I view it similar to getting a drink at a club, it's just a nice gesture. Nothing more....

Due to the overwhelming amount of DMs that I get, I mostly limit myself to interacting here in the DMs on select days that I announce. Which means, unless somebody is part of a select few, I won't engage in the DMs. My question is, would you rather have me tell you that it's not open DM day when you message me. Or just have me ignore the message entirely? PS This only applies to people whose DMs I have already accepted. Requests don't really clog anything.

Sony announcing that they will stop physical PlayStation media is a bummer. It's not just about owning a physical copy and having an offline option for games. The second hand market has always been strong. Not everyone can afford to buy retail prices for the games they like, so they would wait for people to finish their games and sell on their copies. It has always been a win/win for the consumers. You get a portion of your money back after you're done with the game, and others have a chance to get it at a discounted price. Now that will be taken away and the digital market will no longer compete, which means they won't have any incentive to lower prices. The only discounts that consumers will see, will be the sales that are created to hit quarterly revenue targets. It's a huge L for the consumers.
