I love this game. It’s fun, competitive, and seriously underrated. But to be honest, that reveal trailer looked like a PS3 game. Even I thought the game looked bad. And when we finally got gameplay, it felt more like an early access than a full release, giving people ammunition to further hate. From minute one of the trailer, most players had already decided to kill it. Calling it woke, generic, unoriginal, etc., adding their politics and personal bias to justify killing it. It got review bombed by thousands who barely played enough with the intention of leaving a negative review. That bias definitely played a huge part to its failure. But the studio isn’t blameless either. If Highguard had a better cinematic for the GameAwards and launched with customs, ranked, solid optimization, multiple game modes, 120 FPS on console, plus core features people expect, it would’ve had a real shot. Both things can be true. Gamers were quick to kill it. The devs rushed it. Lesson for every studio: don’t rush your project. Take the Marvel Rivals approach and polish it, then run alpha and beta tests when it’s nearly complete and watch your game find its target audience.

Thank God he’s built me to overcome every obstacle I’ve faced and that will be the story once again. I tore my ACL and both of my meniscus within my knee. Got me into surgery the next day. He said it’s insane I was able to fight tearing that 15 seconds into the fight ✊🏿😈🔥

Not the news I wanted to see on my timeline today, but the poor optimization at launch really sealed the deal for a lot of people. I believe in this game and it’s the first PvP game in a while where I look at the clock and go “dang it’s been that long already?” Really hoping some crazy miracle happens and this game rises like it deserves! I’ll be playing Ranked and supporting it till the que button stops working :)
