Memorial Day is the first mile marker for the MLB season. If on Opening Day you would’ve told me that the #Yankees would be ten games over .500 and have the second best record in the American League on Memorial Day, I would’ve signed for it. But how does it look? It looks like a team that is five games out of first place and can’t score and can’t hold leads. It looks like a team that is not destined for a long postseason run. It looks like a team that needs significant upgrades at the trade deadline. It looks a team that plays in a weak league and should’ve taken advantage of that better than they have in the first 54 games of the season. It’s also a team with a disgustingly good starting rotation and really shouldn’t have any excuses for not making it to the World Series.
