🚨💣 BREAKING: Enrique Riquelme sends a LETTER to Florentino Pérez:
“Dear President, Allow me to convey, before any other consideration, my sincerest respect and gratitude for all that you have represented for Real Madrid over these past decades. Under your leadership, Real Madrid has not only won unforgettable titles and dominated world football, but has also strengthened its independence, its institutional prestige, and its position as the most admired sporting entity in the world.
Precisely because of the enormous respect you deserve, I am writing to you from Mexico, where I am for professional reasons and where I have learned of the possibility of an imminent and swift call for the presidency of the club. I fully understand that any decision you make will be guided by your love for Real Madrid and your desire to protect the institution. Given the historical significance of the moment our club is experiencing, I humbly believe that Real Madrid deserves time, composure, and reflection.
Our Club, after almost twenty years without a participatory electoral process that calls upon members to build Real Madrid together, maintains a rigid schedule that is incompatible with the promotion of participation and dialogue required by modern democracies. Members, spread throughout Spain and abroad, deserve time and tranquility to calmly discuss the future of Real Madrid. Time to discuss how to preserve the values that have made this club timeless: exemplary conduct, institutional elegance, respect for the opponent, excellence, unity, and the ambition to remain the world's leading sporting institution.
For all these reasons, and with the utmost respect, I would like to convey our full willingness to engage in dialogue in the coming days and agree on a broader process that allows and encourages the genuine participation of members and Real Madrid supporters in its future. As you yourself mentioned in your press conference, a more transparent and innovative process is needed to address the persistent shortcomings surrounding, for example, postal voting or the availability of information and contact for members with voting rights. An agreed-upon process for this election should ensure another twenty years of stability, leadership, and greatness for Real Madrid and prevent the club from entering a period of division, polarization, and internal tension.
To avoid any insinuations that might distract from the ultimate goal of this proposal for dialogue and unity, I must make it clear that I meet all the financial and seniority requirements to present a candidacy. I possess the economic capacity and financial experience that Real Madrid requires, as demonstrated by the recent successful $2 billion bond issuance by Cox, a company of which I am Executive Chairman and in which I own 75%. However, I sincerely believe that the path I am proposing would be best for the members, for the institution, and for the future of the club.
Truly eternal institutions are those that know how to unite experience and renewal, past and future, legacy and continuity. And few institutions in the world bear such a great historical responsibility as Real Madrid. Whatever his decision, his presidency already belongs forever to the greatest history of football, and guaranteeing the unity of Real Madrid supporters through a participatory, calm, and transparent process would be the best legacy for the future of Real Madrid. At your service, Enrique Riquelme, Member No. 43858 of Real Madrid Football Club.”

🚨 Karim Benzema on why teammates admired Cristiano Ronaldo so much:
“There was one match with Real Madrid CF I will never forget.
I was having a difficult game. I had already missed two clear chances, and with every miss, I could feel my confidence dropping. In a stadium like the Bernabéu, you hear everything... the frustration, the reactions, the pressure.
Cristiano was already on two goals. He was one goal away from another hat-trick, and everyone in the stadium knew it.
Late in the second half, I made a run into the box and won a penalty.
Normally, nobody expected Cristiano to give that moment away. He was chasing another hat-trick, another record.
But instead, he walked straight to me, put the ball in my hands, and said, ‘Take it. You need this more than I do.’
For a few seconds, I just stood there looking at him.
I scored... and before anyone else reached me, Cristiano Ronaldo was the first one running toward me with a smile.
That’s when I understood why every teammate respected him so much.
People see his ambition, his hunger, his records... but inside the dressing room, we admired him because even in moments where he could choose himself... he sometimes chose his teammates first.”
