There’s gonna be a lotta career damage from a bunch of “old heads” teaching new folks the old way of doing things in Cybersecurity or whatever technological domain and telling them they don’t need X or Y core skill. It’s easy to say you’ve had a successful career or made X amount of money without having X skill but the lack of transparency in explaining that you weren’t an IC doing the ground work and you already had X years of experience in the game or you made a ton of money from your course is gonna leave a bunch of folks stranded when they’re trying to get into the industry. Discernment is key in these times we live in or else you’ll be led astray. Having a strong sense of self, a confidence in your internal compass and a strong will for execution will get you further faster.
