@My_niche7 @IowaChill What a weird way to frame this. Ferentz is 14-12 in the CyHawk in his career. 15 of the 26 games (58%) have been decided by 1 score or less, including 6 of the last 8. You can acknowledge Iowa has been better on paper while also admitting the series has been highly contested.

@IowaChill Yeah this isn't true. Iowa's average win in the Ferentz era is over 14 points. Only 3 times has Iowa beaten ISU by less than a touchdown. On the flip side, Iowa State hasn't beaten Iowa by more than a FG since 2005. So I guess you're right, but only when ISU wins.

I will not be betting either of those, by the way. Why? Because the under is 7-0 in CyHawk games Iowa is a double-digit favorite since O/Us have been tracked since 2005. BET YA HOUSE.

-12.5 is the largest spread in the CyHawk since the last time ISU had a coaching change (-15.5 in 2016; Iowa won by 39). In the Ferentz era (since 1999), Iowa is 5-3 in the CyHawk when favored by double digits. HOWEVER, they are just 2-6 ATS in those games. Bet Iowa SU, ISU ATS.

@KimReynoldsIA get his ass, Kim! roast him for... *checks notes* ...having a campaign proposal that would have bipartisan support and appeals to Republicans.

@EveryYard4ISU The players who followed Campbell to PSU absolutely had spots if they wanted them on ISU’s new team, but none of them wanted it and no one can fault them lol. But more than half the players that left didn’t go to Penn State, and that’s what I’m talking about.

@_AlexGookin We are not talking about our 2nd or 3rd string guys. We are talking about the guys that followed Campbell to PSU. They left for more money, familiarity with coaches, etc. To suggest they didn’t have a spot at ISU is just silly.

Going to be honest, nothing Campbell says here makes me more upset about him "taking" players. If anything, it sounds like he was prepared to help bridge the gap at ISU, but the direction changed and players were left without a spot. It wasn't poaching at that point.
On3@On3

NEW: Matt Campbell tells @AndyAriOn3 he became emotional watching Iowa State players and their families choose to follow him: "My number one goal was for our football team there (Iowa State) to be taken care of." "I remember we had 20 players and their families at Penn State for a visit, and I literally broke down and cried the first meeting with them because it was overwhelming."

@EveryYard4ISU Let me clarify: There were "spots", but on the new staff's terms (which, of course!). But the new staff's terms were very different than the terms Campbell assumed there'd be if Mouser got the job. Plenty of 2nd or 3rd-string guys wanted to stay but would take big pay cuts.

@_AlexGookin Irrelevant. Your assertion is there wasn’t a spot for them at ISU.

@PoptartLudwig It's really bad. And the "old" Incarnate Word logo is such a weird style (even for mid-2000s), I hate it. Ball State's Heisman pose cardinal does go hard, tho. I'd probably put Walking Cy in 2nd behind that one.

@DustyBottoms04 Officially? Probably not. But it seems the new staff is HEAVY on the tornado Cy logo, and that alone makes me like them.

@EveryYard4ISU If you were a successful 3-year athlete under a coach you loved and he left for another school (that is more prestigious in CFB), is he "stealing" if those players want to follow him, or is it just common sense that it might be in their best interest?

@_AlexGookin Just about all the best ones ended up at PSU. The idea that they were left without a spot at ISU is ridiculous.

@alex_deyoe As long as you can also agree he wasn’t “poaching” players out from under the new staff.

@_AlexGookin So we can agree Matt needed a ton of spots to fill and didn’t fill them because he just has the biggest heart out there?

@CyVike Yes, he had a meeting with every player when he made his decision to tell them what he was doing and that they need to make the best decision for themselves and I am almost 100% positive every player did that. Idk why we’re trying to pretend this was some NCAA violation lmao

@_AlexGookin So you've already forgotten the interview at PS where Rocco admitted MC came to him at the very beginning about going with him? You know....way before the portal even opened? Do you really think he was the only one?
