Maybe one day I might come back to journalism, but it ideally would be when reporters are paid a living wage. Until then, I will continue to happily support and enjoy all the incredible work being done around Colorado by the reporters sticking around!

I'm sad to be leaving journalism, but so excited to get to continue using my skills and passion for local government to communicate with the public. I'm so grateful to all the people who shared their stories with me over the past four years and already miss the work a lot.

Some personal news: Monday will be my first day as a Public Information Specialist at Metro Water Recovery. I was lucky enough to find this opportunity after being laid off from the Longmont Leader last month.

@lillydancyger Tin foil has worked surprisingly well for us - especially for bigger plants. The size/noise of it keeps them away. I also saw some plant/cat owners who swear by the spray pet deterrent which lets out a harmless puff of air through motion detection and scares them away
