"The reason to extend love, is everyone wants to feel heard" ... "instead of reacting with anger and contempt, to try and understand where they're coming from" ... "she doesn't tell them they're stupid, she doesn't tell them they're ignorant, she doesn't tell them they're racist"
Fuuse@Fuuse

Leadership guru @SimonSinek cites @Deeyah_Khan's approach in ‘White Right: Meeting the Enemy’ to illustrate the power of showing love to people you disagree with and making them feel heard.

Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back. Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: nasa.gov/artemis-ii-mul…

📰A new Finnish study reports that youth gender transitions (under age 23) did not improve mental health symptoms. For some youth, medical gender reassignment may have had a negative impact. Link ⬇️ /1

Liftoff. The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon. Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.

Does anyone agree the movement away from oil is likely going to intensify as countries realize how vulnerable they are to it? Or is global oil production going to ramp up instead?

@_Andrew_Chu_ @Loricatty @rankandfileca The state covers their responsibility by providing a public school system. If a parent choses to educate their child in a private setting, it’s up to the parents to cover those costs.

@jo44527486 @Loricatty @rankandfileca Yes, those schools will fulfill all three rights, but if a parent exercises their right under UDHR 26.3, not fully funding that child legally violates UNCRC 28.1(a).

@jo44527486 @Loricatty @rankandfileca Parents have a prior human right to exclude them from that system. Governments have an obligation to fulfill that child's right to a funded education while also respecting the right of the parents, to the extent that provincial standards allow.

@jo44527486 @Loricatty @rankandfileca But that excludes those who do not attend that system. Children do not have the autonomy to choose where they attend, it is the parents and government who jointly choose for them. Their right to a funded education is not conditional upon who provides that education for them.

@jo44527486 @Loricatty @rankandfileca Only if it's not done on an equitable basis. I would consider tuition to be a violation, however, eliminating public funding is regressive to fulfilling those rights. Eliminating tuition is progressive to fulfilling those rights.

@jo44527486 @Loricatty @rankandfileca They are one part of the system, no more or less important than other parts. Those alone cannot meet the universally declared rights as only having those to the exclusion of others actually violates those rights.

@SunstrumPaul Not likely if there's a decentralized grid and a way to store the energy. The wind will still blow somewhere and the sun will still shine.

@jo44527486 @Loricatty @rankandfileca That's not the universally recognized right. The right is that every child has a right to fully funded education (regardless of provider) that meets government standards.

@jo44527486 @Loricatty @rankandfileca That would be stealing dollars from every child that attends private school. Every child in Alberta (worldwide actually) has a universally recognized human right to publicly funded education that meets provincial standards.
