To each their own, but I think if anyone said what she said exactly the same, nobody would be offended just because of gender.
This exchange though is unproductive comparing apples to oranges. Your point/concern is better made by itself instead of comparing it to an unrelated scenario. So if you are passionate about it, I would suggest running with that.
