"Old No. 7" I almost wrote about this last week after a phone call with my youngest brother. He has a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup. I think was around 70k miles that one of the cylinders stopped firing. He took to the dealer for diagnosis and they said that they would have to tear the engine down to find out what's wrong with it. That would cost him $2500, before the repair of whatever the problem was. It's not his only vehicle. He thought about it and said, "Hell, then; I'll just drive it until it dies." Everything else on the truck works like it did when it was new. He's still driving it on seven cylinders. He hasn't even changed the oil in it in almost eight years, and the silly thing won't die. Now, his friends ask him, "How's Ol' No. 7 doing?"

If I have to see an NP instead of a real doctor, I want a 50% discount on my bill This is quite the racket healthcare providers have devised. Most of the time you go to the “doctor“ you’ll never see a doctor at all. You’ll see a nurse practitioner. But they’ll still bill you as if you had seen a doctor. Even though the nurse practitioners are far less educated and trained, and paid much less.

The absence of Aristotle here is the tell. Socrates never wrote a thing. So which Socrates? Plato's or Xenophon or Aristophanes? This isn't an oversight. He told you at the beginning he denies "telos" so it's logical that he would exclude "The Philosopher". He set's down on "Democracy" and fails to identify it as the reason Athens falls. Guess he skipped Thucydides. He's host just lap it up. Yea Democracy!!! Yea Socrates!! nod toward Christianity but let's not get distracted with that for to long.... Democracy!! This sort of intellectual snobbery is what got us here.
