@AdamBoddison @LauraMossEdu @CharityHourUK Until I got my label, I would have said similar things. For me, being told I had ADHD really mattered, but mostly because it explained why I'd struggled so much for the previous 34 years of my life.

@EmmaJonesGB @CharityHourUK @LauraMossEdu It is often a burden that those who are neurodivergent (and otherwise in need of workplace adjustments) have to bare. I do it in the hope that those lessons are learnt, but others might not be in a position to. It shouldn't just be down to those with needs to explain...

@CharityHourUK @LauraMossEdu A2: A previous colleague of mine, who had autism, would always be very open with people about his situation and help to educate those of us who weren’t so familiar with his needs. It was super helpful and lead to a really open and comfortable environment for all #CharityHour

@robb_masters @CharityHourUK @LauraMossEdu I've had a few positive experiences, but mostly because I have reached out to ask. Not everyone has that confidence.

@CharityHourUK @LauraMossEdu A3) Charities are getting better at accommodating people at the interview stage (although it's still patchy at best). But I've seen nothing regarding the accommodation of ND applicants *before* the interview stage. 1/2 #CharityHour

@CharityHourUK @LauraMossEdu I may be biased in my response as I have ADHD but I've found that making adjustments tends to make things easier for others too. Being clear with tasks and deadlines, having calls unless really necessary, allowing space for clarifying questions...
