@aakashgupta You need the right talent to haul this across the fence. even someone as formidable as vellinuve was not able ti do it box office wise.

Blade Runner has lost money for 43 straight years. The 1982 original finished 27th at the box office in its own year. The 2017 sequel scored 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, had Gosling and Harrison Ford, and still lost its producers $80 million. Amazon just bet an entire series on the franchise anyway. The math explains why this time is different. Blade Runner 2049 needed $400 million worldwide to break even. It made $240 million. Quality was never the issue. Box office pays for breadth: tens of millions of casual viewers showing up in a single opening weekend. Blade Runner's 1982 audience was 71% male, and half of that was men over 25. A cult in the precise sense. Small, obsessive, permanent. Breadth was always the wrong metric for this property. Intensity was the right one, and for four decades nobody had a way to monetize intensity. A streaming service doesn't need 40 million ticket buyers in one weekend. It needs a few million devoted people paying $15 a month for years, plus prestige that makes the whole catalog feel premium. Cult devotion, worthless at the box office, is exactly the asset a subscription business compounds. The fans who rewatched 2049 into classic status are worth more per head to Amazon than any opening-weekend crowd ever was. Which is why the timeline barely matters. The series wrapped filming in 2024 and won't air until 2027. That delay would kill a theatrical release. On a subscription service, the asset just waits. For 43 years Blade Runner was a great product attached to the wrong business model. The franchise never changed. The revenue model finally caught up to it.

@TrumpTruthOnX The main is keeping scores. 18 or 100 doesn’t mean anything as long as he gets his cut.

Happy birthday to Naseeruddin Shah 🎞️  He was born on July 20, 1950 into an illustrious family that initially didn’t approve of his desire to act. He graduated from the National School of Drama anyway.  For Monsoon Wedding, he held intensive acting workshops to help bring realism to Mira Nair’s 2001 film. He plays Lalit Verma, the patriarch of a family hiding a secret. He told @pagliji his “landmark” movies “required the least effort.”

"That's the guy, my uncle Tony. The guy I went to hell for" Somehow, baby Chrissy knew his loyalty to Tony will ultimately become a one ticket to damnation. Yet a again the many Saints of Newark makes us understand the sopranos better.

@CinemaTweets1 Legend. As much as this is Hoffman and Cruises movie, I honestly believe Zimmer’s iconic score elevates it to the next level. Especially this final scene.

I always wondered about this shot in the Sopranos when Phil Leotardo is slowly clutching the sheets while Vito is being killed. Is this like an oblique reference to he himself being gay? I mean, he practically came out of the closet at the start of the scene. Thoughts, anyone #thesopranos #thesopranostheories

HE GOT OUT OF PRISON... AND STRAIGHT BACK INTO MURDER. Tony Blundetto went full Animal on Joey Peeps in under 30 seconds. Cold. He tried to go straight. Then one decision changed everything. The Sopranos
