I’m seeing some hot takes that AI assisted coding means that you don’t have to be technical anymore. That’s only gonna last you until the first database migration, or the first security issue, or the first cloud migration, or the first scale out, or the first major regression, or the first refactor that ends in slop. I am finding that I’m learning more and I have to be as technical or more technical than ever before to get the kinds of high-quality output that I expect of any code, regardless of whether it comes from my fingertips or someone else’s - including an AI. Whether your source comes from open source libraries, your own hands, or an AI via your clever prompt, there is exactly one responsible person for the output. That is you. I never want to be accused of gatekeeping AI assisted programming, as non-technical people can get a lot of interesting work done. Until they hit a wall, and it’s gonna surprise them how quickly they either need to get technical, or get a technical person to help untangle the mess they’ve made. The art and science of programming is taking intent and turning it into shipping products. I will never blame an AI - nor should you - for bad output. Own the code that you ship.

NEW: China officially opens the world’s tallest bridge, completing the project in under 4 years. The bridge features a restaurant at the top, a whopping 2600 ft above the river. The bridge not only cuts a 2-hour drive to 2 minutes, but also features as a theme park with a glass skywalk, a high-speed glass elevator, and a waterfall off the edge of the bridge. Visitors can also bungee jump off of it. The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is 2050 feet above the river and spans 4600 feet over the river. Insane.

Violence is the last refuge of incompetence. The @OfficialDSSNG is no doubt aware of the NURTW’s directives to its members, urging them to Attack, hurt, maim, disrupt, intimidate, and harm opposition gatherings in Lagos, As we saw happen at my declaration at Alimosho and now threats after our successful gathering at Ajeromi. The President and his Lagos APC allies have controlled Lagos state for over 24 years, yet they have no record to campaign on instead they mobilize people like this to stifle opposition, yet send their own children abroad to benefit from good governance. By labeling opposition voices as “enemies of the President” and threatening those who fail to carry out these acts, the intent is to stifle democracy through fear. Let it be known that we are not intimidated. We make this statement for the record and to emphatically state that no one has a monopoly on violence. When this movie starts you will quickly realise we are the many you are the few. Àwa náà ò kéré, awa gan ò dúró lásán. Ẹrù ìjà kò bá wá.
