I used to think this too until I looked into it.
When people say Jesus rose “on the third day,” they weren’t counting 24-hour periods the way we do now. Back then, any part of a day was counted as a full day.
So:
Friday (even if it’s just a few hours) = Day 1
Saturday = Day 2
Sunday = Day 3
That’s why Easter is celebrated on Sunday. It lines up with the “third day” belief.
It actually makes more sense once you see how the counting works.
