@_Coach_Cam Those players hardly do anything when in acres of space in front of them.

Play FORWARD. High line: every time Shaw/Mazraoui get it stick it in the channels for Sesko. He’s won everything he’s had.
Instead it’s 10 sideways passes by which time Leeds are on the edge of their box and the space behind has disappeared.
Think forward, play forward

HT: 0-2. So… what MUST change? 👇

@htomufc @SusanBoyle43835 And by extension why interim/short spell managers have fared better than permanent ones at United.
Information overload over time as tactical complexity builds is maybe too overwhelming on top of other psychological demands playing for Utd

@SusanBoyle43835 Exactly why mate yes, little info overload, key messaging, platform players in area, more reserved off the ball.. .

I'm thinking out loud here but I wonder if there's method to the idea that I have - is it not just far more mentally exhausting to coach such rigidity & structured football [in-out possession] that it is to coach a more "free-flowing" attacking side. If you're overthinking everything tactically as an individual on both sides of the ball, surely burnout has to be thought about?
I listened to Cherki & Guehi talk after the game and they seem so relaxed, almost like they've been on holiday. But it's a direct effect of how they [esp Cherki] play. They have licence to move, they have options around, a more simple role off the ball, they are allowed many mistakes because they get the ball to the best players so often.
I'm just rambling here, but psychologically the burnout on such an overloaded [information-wise] idea is naturally far more draining. When it's executed you get the perfect idea of football - good value shots on the opposition's goal, next to no value shots on your own goal. But if it hits a bump and you're still trying to excuse everything all at once, I can imagine it's very easy to get stuck in a place where you become comfortably numb; pass, show, mark man... Idk.

@_Coach_Cam A bit mind blowing that sports complex was all owned by the university. Looked like it’d opened yesterday. Can’t be many better in the country.

@_Coach_Cam It's not the same.
Amad was side to side.
The bournemouth player left Maguire and then was brought down.
It's a red.

Solution seems to be Kobbie man-marking Iwobi now in the press

Fulham pulling Utd press apart: far side 8 staying away from the ball giving an overload on the switch. DM dropping between CBs to allow them to play across, and FBs overlapping at pace. Nice setup from Marco Silva. First real in-game problem for Carrick to solve❔
English

@Jai777Hind Yeah all good, looks like they’re cracking under pressure… just gotta stay in the game long enough and the mistakes will keep coming
