Winning the Stellar Selection prize is all about probabilities, not number of gestures. For example, in a slow round, you can make 50 gestures and have a 50% chance of winning the ETH prizes. This is because there’s only a few bids in the round. In a happening round like the current one, a player made 75 gestures, but still have only 25% chances of winning a ETH prize. Why? What does a healthier cycle actually look like? 📊 Not one huge spike followed by silence, but rather steady, repeatable activity. What is an ideal time to wait before you make your CST move? Let’s break this down in this explainer 👇 Before we begin, let’s begin by understanding CST rewards in Cycle 1. The CST rewards you get for your gesture depends on how long it has been since the last gesture. In Cycle 0: Each gesture earned you 100 CSTs, regardless of when the gesture was made. In Cycle 1: The more time has elapsed after a gesture, the higher your CST gesture reward will be. So if you make a gesture within 60 seconds after a gesture, the reward will be super low. If you make a gesture after 4-5 hrs, the reward could be super high. So the question to ask is: What is an ideal time to wait after a gesture before you make your CST move? Here’s the answer: If you move too fast, you win almost zero CSTs for your gestures. If you wait too long, you risk someone else taking the opportunity. Ideally, the best time to gesture with CST is when the CST reward is greater than the CST price. Once the cost of your CST gesture is net negative, that's your moment.
