Liverpool played against possibly the most low confidence team in the history of the division today and managed to look weaker and more timid than them. They are the champions, spent hundreds of millions, and are utterly miserable to watch. It's some achievement, in a way.

Pleased to have been to another amazing ground to watch football. The whistling almost physically painful at points and they have a classic camp Balkan anthem. Having said that they've had us inside here for so long that I'm worried that we'll all be charged rent on the way out.

Love being in Istanbul because its mix of peoples and cultures makes it feel like the centre of all civilisation. Walked many miles around Beşiktaş, Kabataş, Eminönü, Fatih, Taksim and Sultanahmet this time and there's so much to stop and admire everywhere.

Really enjoyed watching that game - it was nuts and a now very rare instance of two Premier League teams actually playing football and putting the ball back in play as quickly as possible. It genuinely seemed to take the crowd by surprise. Would be good if more teams tried it.

Liverpool should have won and only have themselves to blame for not doing so. They weren't really facing much good play at 1-0 and then seemed to go out of their way to find ways to concede goals. Brainless.

Hard to imagine circumstances - a walkover, a retirement, facing Sinner/Alcaraz in the final after they've cramped up two days before - that will fall more kindly again for Djokovic at a major. Did realistically all he could but surely that was the last big shot at the record.

Alcaraz took a proper beating from a legend of the game in that first set, but responded with pure level-headed control - an irrepressible mix of technical ability and mental strength. Still early days for an athlete who will go down as one of the all-time greats in all sport.

Equally impressive from Djokovic, who produced a ludicrously high level of intensity that it seemed reasonable to believe he could no longer reach. If he manages to beat both Sinner and Alcaraz, win the title, and take the all-time record, it would be astonishing.
