📰 #MediaFeature | 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 | 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐱𝐞𝐧𝐚 in 𝘔𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭 As discussions around expanding government powers under Section 69A resurface, the conversation around 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, and 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 is once again at the centre of India’s policy landscape. Representing The Dialogue, 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐱𝐞𝐧𝐚, 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘮𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘳, 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 & 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘦 | 𝘚𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘵, 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘺𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 & 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺 (𝘈𝘊𝘛𝘚), in coversation with 𝐀𝐢𝐡𝐢𝐤 𝐒𝐮𝐫 (𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥), weighed in on the evolving debate. She suggests that while such powers are often framed in the interest of safety, the real question may lie in 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 and 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧. Her remarks point toward a 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. As regulatory powers expand, what does that mean for 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲, 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬, and the balance between state authority and user rights? And perhaps more importantly, are existing frameworks equipped to handle this shift, or are they already showing signs of strain? Her perspective hints at 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 that are only beginning to surface as India’s digital regulatory landscape evolves. ➡️ 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭: moneycontrol.com/technology/sec… #contentmoderation #platformregulation #digitalrights #techpolicy #india @kazimriz | moneycontrol.com | @gsaxena03 | @AihikS | @ACTS_India | @kritisingh29

In conversation with by 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐛𝐨 and 𝐒𝐦𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐢 𝐍𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐠, 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡, 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘦, reflects on how these global disruptions are beginning to translate into 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 for startups. She suggests that while the effects may appear indirect at first, 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 and 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 could begin to shape how startups operate and make decisions in the months ahead. But her remarks also point toward a 𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. In moments of global uncertainty, it is not just capital that slows, it is 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. What does this mean for an ecosystem already navigating a funding winter? And how might these pressures play out across sectors dependent on 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬, and 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐛𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬? Her perspective hints at 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 that may only begin to surface as these global shifts unfold. ➡️ 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬: analyticsindiamag.com/ai-features/in… #startups #geopolitics #indiatech #fundingwinter #techpolicy #US #iran #israel @Analyticsindiam | @NovinstonLobo | @SmruthiNadig @kazimriz | @kritisingh29

Moderated by 𝐊𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐦 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐯𝐢, Founding Director, The Dialogue and Managing Secretariat, Coalition for Responsible Evolution of AI (CoRE-AI), the discussion explored how heterogeneous computing architectures can distribute AI workloads across devices, edge systems, enterprise infrastructure, and cloud data centres. The message was clear. The future of AI will not depend on centralized data centres alone. It will be built through 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘦 ecosystems. Across the discussion, several themes emerged: - AI inference is increasingly moving to 𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴, enabling faster, privacy-preserving applications. - Distributed architectures can reduce 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺, energy demands, and infrastructure bottlenecks. - For countries like India, heterogeneous compute offers a pathway toward 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 AI deployment. As AI tools become deeply embedded across creative, artistic, literary, and commercial domains, it is imperative to build 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 around 𝐀𝐈-𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 and 𝐀𝐈-𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 creation. Participants will deliberate on the appropriate 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 necessary to justify copyright protection, and how such standards can be framed in a 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐝, 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥, and 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦-𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 manner. The roundtable will also reflect on 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 and the practical implications of different policy choices, with the objective of identifying 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝, 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 pathways that recognize innovation while safeguarding the integrity of the copyright system. 📅 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟔, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐡𝐢 To express your interest in attending, please write to 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐡 at 𝐤𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢@𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞.𝐜𝐨 Be part of shaping India’s copyright discourse in the age of AI. #AI #copyright #intellectualproperty #generativeAI #DPIIT #techlaw #techpolicy @kazimriz|@JameelaSahiba|@tewari_naimish|@adplawoffices | @DattaAmeet | @Riddima15 | @Rishikaa11 | @tewari_naimish | @kritisingh29

The conversation moved beyond compliance as an afterthought. It focused on 𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 within an AI-driven financial architecture. In his 𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐣𝐚𝐲 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐲, Chairperson, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), underscored that at India’s scale, AI integration into financial rails is no longer optional. It is structural. Governance, auditability, and resilience must be architected directly into digital systems. Across regulatory, policy, and industry perspectives, one principle stood out: Oversight must be 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘬-𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦. Trust must be 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮-𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘥. 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬: 🟣 𝐃𝐫. Generative AI systems are now routinely assisting human creators in producing 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭, 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜, 𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬, 𝐬𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐝𝐞, and other creative outputs — blurring the boundaries between human ingenuity and machine-enabled production. Against this backdrop, the 𝐃𝐏𝐈𝐈𝐓 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 is currently deliberating the second part of its Working Paper on the copyrightability of AI-generated outputs. Given the far-reaching 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥, 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜, and 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 implications of these discussions, the need for structured, multi-stakeholder consultation has never been more urgent. To contribute meaningfully to this process, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞, in collaboration with 𝐀𝐃𝐏 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, is convening two focused roundtable discussions.
