Awesome our views are starting to converge! The difference between the different groups whom you say “ALL” have loyalty to their sect before the nation, is: - 1 group’s loyalty to their sect drives them to fight every war on earth related to this sect (e.g. falastiz) and they don’t even blink twice before sacrificing Lebanon at that altar. - the other group (us) considers Lebanon and the land as part of the belief, Lebanon is in their prayers, in their icons, churches, even priests clothes. The land of the cedar is at the core of their sect’s belief, and never ever did they destroy the land for the sake of some other land. This sect goes as far as equating their love to the land to their faith, almost.

The core cause is loyalty to the sect before the loyalty to the nation , and this goes to all , no exceptions except a minority that still struggle to bring Lebanon first , I believe, after all what we went through, this minority is starting to grow , hopefully we will see the rise of the Lebanese nation again in our lifetime.

Those among these groups who aren’t for the ideology that have brought death and destruction on our land, have had zero impact on anything unfortunately. As for blaming politicians and bankers for the recent economic collapse, yes those may be the direct culprits, but the root causes are still the same.

True, but during his “attempt”, there were groups of people living on this land who didn’t want to join, refused, fought against it, and then ended up causing every single war and massacre for the next 100 years, destroying Lebanon, causing the mass migration of its indigenous people, and changing its face and identity forever.

إنّ عدم استخدام الخط السرياني هو تقصير أو تفريط بالهوية الأصلية للأيقونة المارونية. السريانية هي "لغة اللاهوت والطقس" (Liturgical Language) ​مثلما اللغة اليونانية هي لغة الأيقونة البيزنطية، واللاتينية هي لغة الفن الكاثوليكي الغربي، السريانية هي اللغة اللاهوتية الأم للموارنة. ​الأيقونة ليست مجرد ملصق إعلامي أو لوحة زيتية، بل هي "نافذة على الملكوت" ووسيلة صلاة، وبالتالي كان الأصح لاهوتياً وتراثياً كتابة النصوص باللغة المقدسة للكنيسة المارونية (أو على الأقل وضع السريانية كخط أساسي والعربية كترجمة جانبية). الخط السرياني (خصوصاً خط الإسطرنجيلي أو السرطو) بيعطي الأيقونة المارونية طابعها الرهباني والمشرقي الفريد اللي بيميزها عن باقي الفنون العالمية. ​كتابة الأيقونة باللغة العربية بيفقدها جزء من سحرها التراثي وأصالتها التاريخية، وبيجعلها تشبه اللوحات التوضيحية العادية بدلاً من أيقونة كنسية متجذرة بالتاريخ.
