I have a real love for art by David Hockney. I can’t explain it but it really makes me think. From his portraits to his more expressionism and all in between. I picked these postcards of his work up yesterday. All based on areas in East #Yorkshire he has painted. #hockney #art

There has always been a fort at Bamborough on the NE coast of England since Celtic times, c. 400 AD. My favourite Norman fort forms the core of today's castle, much restored by various owners, until purchased in 1894 by Victorian industrialist William Armstrong, to whose descendents it still belongs. Open to the public.
