Many thanks to all the #ecoflor2024 participants and to the organizers from @cfe_FLOWerLab. The 1st international ecoflor at Coimbra was a total success. Our community is young, dynamic, and welcoming. We will meet again next year in León.

As expected, #ECOFLOR2024 has been AMAZING! I've met old friends I love so much, new colleagues with whom I can't wait to interact more and also missed other friends that couldn't come If you are reading this and still not decided: #ECOFLOR2025 in León is waiting for you!!!

My first #ECOFLOR2024 was a great experience, it will definitely not be my last. Two days of solid floral biology and plant-pollinator interaction research - rewarding, inspiring science & great interactions with fellow researchers and colleagues! Home safe & miss it already.

Santiago Martín-Bravo wraps up #ECOFLOR2024 by telling us about whether the interaction between (extinct) moas and Carex sedges is responsible for the reddish color of many New Zealand/Aotearoa Carex sedges! Using extant ratites as a model at a zoo with cafeteria experiments!

Great questions on my #ECOFLOR2024 talk just now - and some great suggestions on increasing our knowledge of floral color and scent (and their interactions with each other and with other floral traits) in monkeyflowers!

Jairo Robla tells us all about velvet ant pollination/pollen carriage worldwide - turns out they are visiting a lot of plant species (ca. 200 species recorded so far)! #ECOFLOR2024

The absolutely crazy @BioJairo keeps adding insect groups to the list of known pollinators! #ECOFLOR2024

One lovely thing about #ECOFLOR2024 has been the strength and variety of the questions asked after each talk - very insightful, no talk without questions, and great questions especially from students and postdocs. The question-asking environment feels quite safe which is nice!

Jakub Štenc tells us how plant-pollinator networks change over the course of the day in 3 focal plant species and 5 focal pollinators... and how visitation networks don't equal pollination transfer! (only 3 species - but the whole network changes qualitatively too) #ECOFLOR2024

Really neat set of studies showing that whether you're surrounded by kin or strangers really has strong impacts on pollinator behavior and the link between floral display and pollinator behavior. #ECOFLOR2024

Very excited for this talk on automated computer vision for pollinator monitoring at #ECOFLOR2024 - using single-board computers (I assume Raspberry Pi/Arduino type) and deep learning for automated detection!

Nice work by Violeta Simon-Porcar on use of quantum dots and alternative heterostyly indices to work on pollen deposition in non-simple heterostyly systems! Great combination of math and engineering :-) #ECOFLOR2024
