@JonCrowVO Neither, it’s pretty low on my priority list! I truly think the Meet 2 Match is primarily intended for developers and publishers to talk deals and pitches for, yknow, actual games 😂 Anything for VAs (in my opinion) feels much more suited to organic networking and attending talks

AND ANOTHER THING — VO is not a meritocracy. It is luck, perseverance, honing a nuanced craft; your success is NOT contingent on how hard you try or how many cards you collect. Do not PISS ME OFF saying “you didn’t get any important gigs bc you didn’t try hard enough at Develop”

@TrinitySomerset Exactly! If you really, truly love the core of a game and want to be in it, there's ways of proving and uplifting that and your potential place in it without waving round a business card. There's a real loss of organic interaction lately, and I wish we could be more open about it

@_ElizabethPlant This, 100%!! I only really work indie dev, but I’ve met so many developers exhausted by voice actors asking for work in a game that doesn’t need voiceover/overwhelmed by VAs trying to get their foot in the door. Networking is one thing, bothering devs is another.

Please stop putting undue pressure on yourself to advance, it's only gonna burn you out. Just have fun in the sun, be genuine, and don't pull up the ladder on newer VAs wanting to try Develop but finding all the indie teams have been turned off actors by others overstepping 🫂

Make an impression by being passionate about but *understanding* the actual heartbeat of the industry. Things are actually pretty bleak for a lot of developers rn, so going in all happy-go-lucky about all the voices you can do is NOT IT 😅
