What a satisfaction to perform such a tricky #supinePCNL within 24th Congress of Italian Endourological society in Rome @ Campus Biomedico … this has been the demonstration of how important is teamwork in #endourology with @sproietti81 @_FDeLeonardis & also local Team Dr. Salerno & Esperto & all nurses with super Gabo , anesthesiologist and x-ray tech Michela. Prof. Papalia should be proud of his team that made us feel home from the very beginning! #IEA25 BOTTOM LiINE?!? PCNL is stille alive and kicking!

Unfortunately after #covid our waiting list is so long & sometimes it happens that we found unexpected surprises like today .. old normal CT but blurry image on initial pyelography ?!? Once inside the kidney we understood why: plenty of jelly protein matrix encasing the stones… percutaneous approach is strongly adviced in such scenario with meticulous complete litholapaxis but also matrix Lapaxis! This is the only way to stop infection afterwards! #ETCE thanks to @axelhernandezmd for editing this video!

Such a difficult #enbloc resection of a huge peduncolated neoformation of the right kidney is possible only if endoscopic view is crystal clear like the one offered today by the superb combination of cutting+coagulation provided by the new #THULIO p-Th:yag laser by @DornierMedTech: finally complete eradication achieved in full safety in a bloodless field! Before leaving to Madrid for the big #EAU25 meeting, Im more than happy to supervise @_FDeLeonardis performing a #SUPINEPCNL with both rigid & flexy scope. I also underline the fact that it’s me irrigating as a resident with my #Tflow system! ….. it is not true that #PCNL is so difficult… but adequate training is crucial !!! #ETCE

Already feeling the positive vibes of 2025 @Uroweb European Association of Urology meeting in Madrid … today recording of a superb semi-live surgery by @sproietti81 showing the incredible features of pulsed #thuliumyag laser #THULIO by @DornierMedTech in conservative treatment of #UTUC … effective coagulation and ablation without significant carbonization r the key points of this innovative laser that makes challenging cases like this become easier and approachable by more urologists around the world. Congrats to every member of my team and thanks for this super effort which everything would d be possible without ! #ETCE

Finally we had the opportunity to use Elutax, the drug eluting balloon dilator with #paclitaxel/dextran in pts w ureteral stenosis. A new tool to solve the Achilles’ heel of endourologists!
