“I don’t believe we shall ever have a good money again before we take the thing out of the hands of government, that is, we can’t take it violently out of the hands of government, all we can do is by some sly roundabout way introduce something they can’t stop” - F.A. Hayek

@DOGE_DOW Get sleep apnea and anything related to being fat off the list of covered problems. You shouldn’t be able to double dip retirement and disability. You shouldn’t be able to get disability and work a full time job

DOGE is working on a review focused on strengthening the integrity of disability claims and preventing fraud, while safeguarding access for veterans who rightfully receive benefits. If you are a veteran or service member with relevant experience and would like to help, please send a DM.

I am begging someone, anyone to clean up the disability fraud in the VA. This guy was a Navy reservist who went to school for the Government and got out after 2 years with disability benefits for anxiety and depression. This has to end.

Just because you can collect VA benefits doesn’t mean you should. The visceral reaction some will have to this statement underscores why the VA system is so broken. Finding a way to get the VA to sign your paperwork doesn’t make your benefits ethical or moral if you know you shouldn’t have them (or know you don’t need them). Fraud is both a legal and ethical question. The system is there for those who need it, not those who want it. While normies slog through years of BS to get compensation for real issues, the gray market “consultants” get bogus ratings for thousands of others. Sure, it may not flag on an audit for illegality, but it’s still unethical and immoral. (And also still fraud). The military is at it best when troops act with the highest integrity in all things, it’s very sad to see we’ve been debased to mere legalese as we decide who will receive our finite resources for disabled veterans. To put it more bluntly, you should be embarrassed to show your face in public if you did two years in the Navy reserve and are collecting disability for “anxiety.” I don’t care if the VA said yes, if that’s the totality of your chart, what you’re doing is unethical and immoral. I guarantee you there will be many who cannot even comprehend the concepts I’ve outlined here. To them the VA is just an infinite free money machine and they’re going to take as much as possible even if they know deep down they don’t really rate it or they don’t really need it. Many haven’t even considered the ethical and moral component of their decision on whether or not to pursue these benefits. For the record I am entitled to VA disability benefits but have never pursued a VA disability rating…mainly for the reasons I’ve outline above.

A married couple revealed their government checks. “$142,000 a year.” From disability. $4,700 a month for her. $7,200 a month for him. What does it say about the system when they’re making more doing nothing than the taxpayers working to fund it.

@canutox01 @anyafolders And a plot point that Alia isn’t close to paul when it comes to prescience so her statement was pretty crazy. Hopefully they aren’t changing the material too much

Anya Taylor-Joy elaborates further on what drives her character Alia Atreides in ‘Dune Part Three’: “She is one of a kind. There’s never been anybody like her. She’s named the abomination, and a lot of people find her really creepy except for her brother. She has absolute prescience; she lives with the voice of generations of people in her head. She’s never in a singular conversation, and that can drive somebody a little bit crazy.”

I can solve homelessness Give me a van, I’ll drive around until I find a homeless crackhead, jump out and then throw a comically large net over them. “THERE IS NO ESCAPE” I yell as I drag them into the van I put them in a de-crackification camp (live-streamed 24/7 for twitch donations to subsidize costs) and get them off crack. They’ll be forced to do basic things like make their bed and eat a salad with no crack under the threat of a beating stick. When they are good enough I’d put them in work camps breaking rocks or something because work will set you free. They’ll work for 3 years. Then they’re competent functional people, I’ll give them a basic can’t fuck it up job in the normal world and housing for the first few months. If they do crack again then they’ll be tortured on livestream for twitch donations. From word of mouth, the crackhead homeless will know and fear this outcome, thus avoiding doing crack again. If you report a crackheads location and it leads to an arrest, you get $500. If you capture him yourself, you get $750

Property tax is literally the only tax that makes intuitive sense. A local tax based on the property you choose to live on that goes toward things such as roads, police, fire departments, etc. that are amenities directly connected to that particular property. Meanwhile, the federal government just sends your federal income tax dollars to fund Israel and gay pride parties at the Department of Labor. Of all the taxes, property tax is the least retarded and I’m tired of hearing boomers complain about it.

The circumstances in Minneapolis are a bit different. If every local PD had an organized network of thousands following their every move, coordinating, tracking, and impeding them, while they’re out trying to serve warrants, you’d see the same thing.
Peter Moskos@PeterMoskos

In all the peaceful and violent anti-police protests of 2020, there were literally zero people killed by law enforcement. Zero. The first death was on Jan 6 2021 when an unarmed white woman was shot and killed by a federal officer when she was storming the Capitol.

@hoosier_hater End of season ranking should be locked in for the beginning of next season. Yeah teams like JMU who lose players to the portal or graduate will fall out quick but at least they earned their spot on the field

@ToneDigz Preseason poll should be locked and just carry over the final poll from last season. Then G5 or lower "brand" P5 schools like James Madison and Vanderbilt can start stronger.

My honest take on this fentanyl boat strikes thing is that I just...really don't care. (1) Killing narco-trafficantes, who probably technically are terrorists, is clearly the sort of thing that a government should be doing. Having reviewed the...hundreds of Obama drone strikes previously for a client, it seems pretty obvious that there ARE situations where operators can strike the same target 2x, or where spec-war operatives specifically can kill everyone targeted during a mission. @crenshawactual might clarify. Also: the Geneva Conventions and such DON"T APPLY to tangos, pirates, slavers, and other irregular combatants. (2) ALSO, even if I am situationally wrong in this case, and a Congressional hearing or some such leads to the sacking of an (Admiral) - that doesn't mean I have to feign agony that some sicario with Santa Muerte tattooed on his face is dead. Almost every single left wing martyr (Michael Brown, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Yahya Sinwar) is an awful person representing an awful social trend, and I feel no need to show that I am SO virtuous that I care about them as vs my country. If there are real charges here....bring 'em.

There are 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. - Immigrants (1st gen, born abroad): 8 - 2nd gen (children of immigrants): 10 - 3rd gen or later: 38 (e.g., Jefferson 4th gen, Washington 4th, J. Adams 5th) Exact breakdown beyond 2nd gen varies by source; many trace to 1600s immigrants.
