Yesterday afternoon, HB 634 passed the Georgia Senate Education and Youth Committee. The bill makes several administrative changes to the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship. It now moves to the Rules Committee before a potential vote on the Senate floor.

Today, the Senate Committee on Children and Families passed HB 1009. This legislation would expand the Distraction-Free Education Act to include grades 9–12. The bill now moves to the Rules Committee and then to a potential vote in the Senate.

This week, our DeKalb County Parent Fellow, Lasharn Ferroudj, hosted a DeKalb Day at the Capitol for our network of advocates. We were joined by The Village Schools and TREAD Educational Services & TREAD Academy. We had an amazing turnout and to students advocate for themselves!
