Who Protected Birmingham's Rape Gangs?
In March 2015, West Midlands Police produced a confidential document identifying more than 700 children at risk of sexual exploitation in Birmingham. Three months of data. 372 suspects. Children's homes, hotels and mapped locations where rape gangs were operating. The document compared Birmingham directly to Rotherham.
It was never made public.
No politician demanded an inquiry. No council leader called for independent investigation. The second city had the numbers, had the suspects, had the locations on a list inside a police file the public was never shown.
Rotherham got an inquiry. Telford got one. Birmingham got a decade of silence while the people who held that document carried on as normal.
So the question now is the one that should have been asked in 2015. Who looked at 700 children at risk and decided Birmingham's reputation was worth more than the truth?
It is nine minutes past nine and we have arrived late. Perhaps, too late...

The leader of the Rotherham grooming gang, Banaras Hussain, has been released.
Hussain raped 15 11-year-old girls for 10 years.
He ripped out the nails of girls who tried to escape.
The court found a total of 55 crimes.
Hussain, who served a 9-year sentence, is now walking the streets of the UK
