Dining aboard the Blue Train is nothing short of abundance. Evenings unfold in elegant dining cars, where tuxedos and gowns meet the sweet notes of a live saxophone. A six-course tasting menu dazzles with smoked salmon, silky cauliflower velouté, sorbet palate cleansers, seabass and fillet with dauphinoise potatoes; concluding in cheesecake perfection. South Africa’s finest wines elevate every bite, curated by staff who make pairing effortless. By morning, breakfast is a ritual of charcuterie, pastries and divine eggs benedict, while afternoons bring leisurely four-course lunches. Every plate astonishes, crafted in a compact kitchen on a moving train – proof the journey itself is the destination. MANĀO is one of the newest additions to the Dubai food scene. In less than six months of operating, MANĀO has already achieved a Michelin star, quietly asserting its dominance in this culinary-brilliant city. Here's what I thought @MichelinGuideUK #Dubai bit.ly/3H06vSd

Update: I’ve just been paid. Honestly, I wish I could say this brings me joy, but the truth is... it’s bittersweet. Why does it have to get "ugly" before people do what’s right? Why does standing up for yourself so often feel like a battle, when it shouldn’t be? This whole experience has left me feeling heartbroken - not just for myself but for everyone else who’s faced the same struggle. Because let’s be real... this isn’t just my story. It happens all the time, to so many people. And it’s not okay. So here’s a gentle reminder to everyone: Pay what you owe. Honour your commitments. Give back what you borrowed. It’s not just about the money - it’s about trust, respect, and the relationships we build along the way. Let’s do better, not because we’re forced to, but because it’s the right thing to do. Okay. Love you. Bye.

I just fired a client. They haven’t paid me since December 2023 and have been ignoring my accountant and my emails for months. I was kind. I gave them grace. Month in and month out, I saw the emails not being answered (from my accountant to them). But I had faith that they would do the right thing. It’s the fool in me. Believing in people. I decided to get involved and emailed them twice last week. I found some of their colleagues and added them to the thread. Not a single response. From anyone. I decided to call them. Like, 5 minutes ago. I spoke to the account manager who had booked me. She apologised for not getting back to me as she “was off last week”. Babe, you haven’t responded to me or my accountant since March!? That’s 8 months and well over 15 emails. Not a single response. I had faith they would do the right thing. I don’t anymore. So I fired her. And them. I told her that she had until this afternoon to pay me or I will go both social and legal. I also told her to let the entire PR company know that Good Things Guy and myself will not be working with their agency or their clients ever again. I added in that I’m a kind guy but they had clearly mistaken my kindness for weakness. Not a single response since March. What is wrong with people. Sis man.
