@Challengertcg Myself, I missed Houston and Atlanta. Why continue to play when my next chance at playing is either a 3rd party event or 2027. I love the game and play every day but I also want to compete at the highest in person levels and that is still being deprived from me

Riftbound has a problem. The best players are "forced" to play bad decks to be +EV. There is such a wide gap between Legends/Domains that you're not even playing the same game-leaving your fate up to matchup roulette with close to 0% chance of winning the event. #Riftbound

@Challengertcg @samdsherman I run an LGS where out of 40 people 2 got tickets for Atlanta and people out side of our store who had gotten tickets were willing to put other people's emails on them and resell at 3x the cost Some guy neighboring us got 6 lunar bundles. Its not just at events its top to bottom

@samdsherman It creates a situation where your Best of Legend winners are just dodging the "real players" and the real players are farming the Best of Legend players. Another wrinkle is how much bribery and collusion is involved with the current landscape.

Had to share this one that I found on Instagram (I’ll link it below). This dude is the WORST kind of vendor. Not sure how he sells anything. It’s not just the decision to ignore comps, he was just soooo combative too. Nightmare vendor.

@riftboundop Congrats. Lost me and my friends and wife today. As a store owner and a player this was a miserable experience. 3 people, 5 devices 0 tickets and 30 minutes early. I will never pick the game up again. Absolutely baffling.

You know fixes this? Actually providing distributors with ample product to reduce scalping snd prevent bots. We see the same thing across many many lines of products with your pre order from the source. Its all a money grabbing technique and never actually about the players and stores that support your games.

As you all saw, Spiritforged preorders went fast today. We know it was a frustrating experience for a lot of you. Overall, we saw two major issues: first, even with ~50 percent more product than Origins, we still didn’t have enough to meet demand. (1/9)

@Vero_TCG Magic - few ticketed events* and as they have grown more of them have occurred and many of them sell out but there is not widespread complaints.

I could agree with this take but coming from other TCGs like magic where there are no ticketed events and they have sometimes 3-6000 participants, i don't think there is a need for anything between skirmish and regional. They need larger venues and more slots. On top of this, I am a card store owner. How do I promote a game that: New players: There is no product for you to buy but we can teach you to play Current players looking to play competitive: There is no product for you to buy other than inflated singles online. Nexus night promos are scarce and reprints are limited. Current players with Competitive decks: You can play in this event called a Skirmish and win a round 1 bye but you can only use it if you buy a scalped ticket or you get lucky enough to refresh and buy a ticket in less than 60-120 seconds. Adding another event pushes newer players away, makes existing players further discouraged because they now have to play more and likely fight the same issues we are all already experiencing

This will come across as bias and you can flame me as you please, but day 2 competitors for Riftbound Houston not getting some type of priority for tickets for the next Regional is just bad marketing and does not help cultivate a professional scene or storylines.

To start with, all previous top cut and Skimirsh winners should be guaranteed a windows to buy a ticket. As a store owner, its impossible to promote the game. New players - Product non existent to push people to get into the game Current players that want to be competitive - No product to allow them to even build good decks without buying n online at inflated prices Current players with comp decks - Play at these events called Skirmishes and you could get a rd1 bye if you win! But be warned, tickets will sell out in 3 minutes and if you don't get a ticket to play, oh well. Better off going to the six 25k events and the invitational from Charlie's Collectible show than trying to play a regional.

I got in for #Vegas 🙏🏻 I am thankful that I was able to get in, however, I have to express to @riftboundop that the ticket sales are not being handled well. I think it’s again being severely underestimated how many people were waiting to get passes. None of my friends were able to get passes for Vegas and Bologna sold out almost instantly. There should be some major adjustments to the approach on these ticket sales. Perhaps do them in waves, and require an active RIOT account to purchase for the first 1-2 waves, rather than the waitlist method? The cap should be raised much higher as well. Not really sure what exactly needs to be changed, but I’m sure the team can come up with something.

@riftboundop Skirmish winners should be allowed a separate ticketing entry to the RCs. This pushes more play at a local level and promotes from LGS up. Hard to promote a game that the competitive skirmishes mean nothing if you cant get lucky to get a ticket and product is non existent to get new players on board and keep older players in the game.

100% correct as a card shop owner I cant even promote the game properly. Product is non existent for new and current players alike. The Skimirsh events might as well be worthless because the competitive pathway is non existent unless you are lucky to buy a ticket. Skirmish winners should be given an additional option to purchase a ticket and guaranteed to play. That would promote more local play and push a lot of these players to local events to allow for event attendance.

Riot (Not UVS) needs to respond today, reassure the playerbase that changes are coming and fast, or they risk losing all momentum and hype. Having only 1 event for set 2 is ridiculous and it's being made worse by how poorly it's being handled. No one I know wants to play the game now that there is nothing to compete in, and imagine how little interest there will be for these players waiting for a set 3 event.

Your game is fantastic but how as a card shop owner am I to promote the game when people cannot play in events. Winners of the Skirmishes with byes cannot play in large events, product is non existent, and communcation is horrendous. Unfortunate feelings that such a great game has only brought poor feelings to 80% of the community. People are not even encouraged to play in your Skirmishes because they wont be able to use the byes and new players cannot buy product to even begin playing the game.

Note: while all badges are sold out or currently in carts; if the players don't complete their transactions within 30 minutes they go to people on the waitlist so some number of players waitlisted currently may still be able to get badges.

100% agree but people looking for sealed its reasonable. I own a card store, no one in my entire state can get product. I got a huge initial allocation. I had people calling me from 1800 miles away trying to buy the product and have me ship to them. If you are wanting to play buy singles, if you want sealed wait a few weeks for reprints, if you want product now, 15-17$ a pack or hope you get lucky at Walmart.
