In the midst of a really challenging casting + the number of women I am seeing self-select out of the process by telling me they aren’t talented or qualified enough is heartbreaking. You👏🏻ARE👏🏻enough👏🏻 +you best believe none of the men I emailed are self sabotaging like this.

@proletHARRIET YES YES to the final point! You've got to give yourself a break and realise it's a long journey for most actors. Also, be proactive. Don't just wait for someone to find you. Find them! You increase your chances by simply being proactive and foster a 'can do' attitude. @Dramanic

Casting is fucking hard/ruthless/subjective/not personal but early career actors: ☑️ get on Spotlight ☑️ fix the typos on your CV ☑️ date all your credits ☑️ have a showreel ☑️ get professional headshots ☑️ GIVE YOURSELVES A DAMN BREAK YOURE WONDERFUL AND I APPRECIATE YOU

@jesswarsh I totally empathize! I know it’s not really as simple as a little checklist. I know I found my joy when my tribe (@nothing2perform) started making our own work. Other than that, I can only direct you to my last point..💙🤗
