“When I kiss in Nollywood movies, I don’t kiss with my tongue. And I don't think it is okay to swap saliva with every single person that you shoot with. My teeth are always cleansed. Then some actors will still complain that I don’t kiss them properly. Are you supposed to get a good kiss?... It's a job; act and go home!" — Soso

Horses were so expensive that only Yorubas & Northerners could afford them. That exclusivity became culture. Ojude Oba in Ijebu & other Yoruba festivals and the North. You will not see horse festivals like that anywhere else in Nigeria. That is not coincidence. That is old money

Firstly, Horses were a thing among the Nupe and Hausa traders; they were not common in the SW and SE due to one major factor, the tsetse fly. It's one of the biggest enemies of the Horse. In the 19th century, Nupe and Hausa traders were domiciled in Ibagwa Aka, around Nsukka, which is closer to the north; there you find a significant number of Nupe and Hausa. They've been trading Horses there for centuries; modern medicine has helped in reducing the mortality rate. Also, some cultures and norms see Horses as an abomination. I.e Ado-Ekiti. There is no Horse; from my knowledge; it’s considered an abomination. I once questioned such customs; I think it’s ingenuity to think of horses as some gotcha entity to spite people from other regions. Northern climate and terrain encouraged the productivity of horses and camels; this is why they have high numbers of such animals. ‘Horses were so expensive that only the Yoruba and Northerners could afford them’ is nothing but ignorance; you don't appear like an ignorant man, you simply have apathy for knowledge.

This very stereotype of Nigerian men being providers is not in any way helping Nigerian men. It will rather harm a lot of Nigerian men on the long run because some women would want to date you, not because they love you OR care about you But for what they stand to gain from you
Instablog9ja@instablog9ja

“Nigerian men are the best. They are providers and protectors who don’t believe in 50-50. Their goal is to pay the bills and take care of you” — Canadian woman says
