Jim Nagy said at the Sooner Caravan that he believes OU could have 10-14 draft picks next year. If 10 or more #Sooners were taken, that would be the most since the 2005 NFL Draft, when 11 were taken. That's the most in program history in the 7-round era. on3.com/teams/oklahoma…

@Danny_Bigmac13 You get to a good point. It usually takes a year to assimilate that many pieces. Would be unwise not to expect some hiccups with new a TE and RB coach.

Man a whole looooootta hype for ND this season I get it. And their schedule is a joke. Could sleepwalk into the CFP’s A&M imo should be good. Texas is about where I think they should be USC and LSU too high. So is OU

@Danny_Bigmac13 And as to the run game, I agree and I dont know what to expect there. Other than Gray, OU has been bad at it. Hopefully all the offseason changes help. But I expect the offense to be better overall. Is it enough to overcome the schedule? I dont know. So I can see losing 2 or 3.

@Danny_Bigmac13 I completely agree. I think Daniels and Halton are big losses. Otherwise, I think the OU defense is better top to bottom. Not sure if you said in the other reply, but hopefully 10 wont break his hand again (or worse). So that will help.

@Danny_Bigmac13 The team is paper thin. So I get hesitation. But the front line is loaded, top to bottom. Vs a brutal schedule. Brutal. But as every ability to win a bunch of games. I dont think 22 or 24 have a damn thing to do with the forecast tho. IMO 8.5 or 9.5 is the o/u and not 7.5.

@_JeffreyDMorris But the more I think about it I guess you’re correct in the assertion that one of the few teams in the SEC w a returning QB who just made the CFP’s, and a loaded defense should be top 10 pre season I get it. This is more of a personal thing of needing to see it

@Danny_Bigmac13 All that to clear the table. Now, what can we expect this year? Not in 22 or 23 or 24. This year. And not what "I need to see". But instead, what I expect to see.

@Danny_Bigmac13 If that happens again or to TX, UGA, Bama, etc. They wont be either. There is no reason to "hedge" a prediction. But the QB in 2024 or the back up OL that played in 24 or the 2 of 6 WRs healthy in 2024, have equally less to do with this years group.

@Danny_Bigmac13 But I am not suggesting you or anyone be a "homer". Just "OU is to high" based on what? History? Not great insight there, Dave. "Prove it?" Why is the media placing the focus on themselves every year. Prove what to who? Look at the facts, this year, and make a point.

@Danny_Bigmac13 This perplexing me. First of all, every local media in America bats for their home team. But not OU. If the fans wants an "outside perspective" on OU - there are plenty of national outlets that have a general less-than optimistic view of OU.

Cooper makes the point with Nagy that if Heinecke had played three football games instead of three lacrosse games, he would have received a redshirt. Nagy is now being questioned by the NCAA.
