A lot of people getting really fucking mad over the fact it’s very clear Jennifer Lawrence does not have olive skin or straight black hair. They just gave her a tan. This isn’t even meant to be a criticism of Jennifer: this is simply pointing out that people don’t care about accuracy nearly as much when it’s a white actress getting the role.

Katniss, in the book, is described as having “straight black hair, olive skin, and grey eyes.” While her ethnicity is left ambiguous it’s speculated that she’s a mixed-race Appalachian with Native American, African American heritage, and settler ancestors given her description and the region she’s from. Not that anyone cares when it’s a white woman who gets the role that “authenticity and loyalty to the source material” suggests should go to a non-white actress.

How is Pattinson a draw when Mickey 17 flopped? And Stone? The last time I checked, Bugonia didn’t even make its budget back + Eddington

@GEvans96 She was arguably the biggest movie star in the world in the 2010s. She still has the name brand recognition to be a movie star, but doesn’t have the same draw (although I will say she is still great in every performance!)
